What is the submission deadline?

What do I need to provide?
- One photo of your cat or dog.
- A caption for that photo.
- A few words about what makes your cat or dog so cute.
Are there prizes?
This year we will have two prize winners: One for the cat photo that gets the most votes and one for the dog photo that gets the most votes. Each winner receives a family 4-pack of tickets to see the Grasshoppers vs Lakewood Blueclaws at Newbridge Bank Park on Sunday, August 30, 4:00 pm
What else do I need to know?
- For reasons of fairness, only photos of one cat or one dog can qualify for the final round. Photos containing people (including kids) or more than one pet will automatically be disqualified.
- Judges will choose finalists on August 14.
- The public gets to vote on their favorite pet beginning August 15.
- If you're a prize winner, the News & Record will contact you.
- You must be a local resident with a primary residence inside the News & Record's delivery area to qualify.
- Winners will be announced on August 26, which just happens to be National Dog Day. (Sorry, cats.)
What are the voting rules?
- One vote per day per person.
- This means you can vote for a cat and a dog if you like, but not on the same day.
